Christian Education

ALL GOD'S CHILDREN ARE WELCOME HERE...

The fruit of the spirit are love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control.

ALL GOD'S CHILDREN ARE WELCOME HERE.......

Christian Education at First Parish  provides a safe and loving environment for children to grow as "children of God”.

Our teachers are passionate about this call and have been leaders in our teaching ministry for many years. A variety of curriculums move each child through the stages of their faith development.

Our Sunday School has begins the new program year on September 17.:

Pre-K  through Grade 8, meet along with their parents, teachers and youth assistants at 9:30 a.m.  on Sunday mornings in Nazareth Hall for FIRST Kids Gathering.  This is a time of shared community through expressions of joys and concerns, singing songs, offering gifts, and hearing of God's inclusive love for all children.

At 9: 50 a.m., all gathered proceed to the sanctuary for the first part of worship service.  Following the Children's Message during the service, teachers and students return downstairs to their church school classes, at approximately 10:10 a.m..

Classes are then held by grade span groupings as follows: Pre-K through Grade 2;  Grades 3-5, and Grades 6-8.  After grade span classes, each Sunday concludes with a group activity in a "one-room schoolhouse" approach that allows all children and youth to interact.  Sunday School then concludes at the same time as "upstairs" worship service.

An integral part of our Sunday School program is a seasonal mission focus so that the children can help those less fortunate in a variety of tangible ways.  We strive to make service to others a central part of all we do in Christian Education.

Adult discussion group is offered each Sunday from 8:50 a.m. until 9:40 p.m. and is led by lay leaders from the church.

A fully staffed nursery is available each Sunday at 9:00 a.m. through to the end of the worship service.
