Immigrant Justice Stories

Time & Location

Jun 12, 2025, 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Dover, 218 Central Ave, Dover, NH 03820, USA

About the event

Immigrants come to our country in search of safety, freedom, and a better life for their children. And it is their right under Federal law to seek Asylum from persecution in their home countries. Too often, they are met with detention by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at the Strafford County House of Corrections.

A team from the New Hampshire Conference of the United Church of Christ and the American Friends Service Committee have been visiting immigrants who are held in detention by ICE for several years. Team members listen to immigrants’ stories and, importantly, show that someone cares. The Visitors also try to connect immigrants with other immigrant justice groups that may be able to help.
